Notable Criminal Case Dismissals (Summer 2016):
Assault Family Violence: case dismissed
Client retained the Adamo & Adamo Law Firm to susbstitute in for previous counsel and defend the domestic violence violations. After unlocking a number of legal issues with the case, the assistant district attorney agreed to dismiss the case.
Harassment: case dismissed
Client hired the Adamo & Adamo Law FIrm to defend against a harrassment charge stemming from a past relationship gone wrong. In the attorney’s opinion the harrassment was no different thant most dating relationships gone wrong and the case was eventually dismissed.
Aggravated Assault w/ a Deadly Weapon: No-Bill from the grand jury and case dismissed
A serious felony accusation, in which a packet was submitted by our defense team to the grand jury, pointing out probable cause did not exist to arrest and charge the accused with a crime. The grand jury followed the law and the case was dismissed.
Federal Theft: case dismissed
The speedy trial legal tool was used by the defense attorneys in getting a rare federal case dismissed and a new life for their client.
Motion to Revoke Probation: dismissed and probation reinstated.
A motion to revoke probation was filed, and the lawyers at the Adamo & Adamo Law Firm were able to persuade the judge to dismiss the revocation and reinstate their client’s probation.
Motion to Adjudicate Guilt: dismissed and deferred adjudication terminated.
In this case, instead of sentencing their client to years in prison, the judge agreed the interest of justice called for a dismissal of the motion to adjudicate and termination of the previous deferred adjudication. No more probation officers, monthly reporting, fees, costs, etc. for the firm’s client.
Motion to Revoke Probation: dismissed.
Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon: dismissed.
